Galway vs Drogheda betting tips 21 July 2017 – Premier

Galway improved significantly last time out, as the team managed to get a three pointer two weeks ago in the most recent Premier Division game when the team won over Limerick 3:1 in front of own fans. The team was simply much more determined in attack and overall looked better, deserving the victory completely.

The team used lack of concentration in visiting defensive lineup towards the end of the first halftime scoring two goals within two minutes, in 35th minute via Murray and few moments later via Cunningham. Visitors tried to respond, however without being enough concrete, while the hosts scored again, in 78th via McCormack, while the guests reduced the deficit in last moments via Coughlan. The team is now second from the bottom and needs to continue improving, being just two points below the safe zone.

Hosts will be without injured midfielder Maurice Nugent (no performance so far in this season) and left back Gary Kinneen (2/0). They will probably be unchanged in comparison to previous win over Limerick.

Drogheda, on the other side, comes from a point taken away from home against Sligo Rovers last Saturday evening. Overall, they didn’t look that great, however the home team attacked without being too concrete and the visitors managed to exploit that – taking the lead in 51st minute a bit against the flow with a goal from Russell.

However, they didn’t manage to keep the clean sheet, conceding a goal in 63rd minute when McCabe equalized, with the home team trying to push for a victory but without success. This way Drogheda at least broke the losing streak which was four lost matches in a row, however the side is still to win – their last victory was back on 21st April away from home to Finn Harps. They stand at rock bottom position now with just a point less than Galway and three less than safely placed Sligo Rovers.

Guests are without central defenders Ciaran McGuingan (18/1), Kevin Farragher (5/0), midfielders Richie Purdy (14/0), Gavin Brennan (13/0) and striker Ryan Masterson (5/0).

It’s a relegation battle game that will actually be much more important that three points here. Galway comes off a positive performance and will surely be looking for a victory, while Drogheda also can’t afford to sit at back and wait for things to happen in this one. Goals seem so likely to me this time.
